In a development that came as a surprise to nobody, Ireland missed out on a place in this weekend’s Eurovision Grand Final last night.
While Brendan Murray gave a spirited performance of his track Dying To Try, we suffered our now-ritual humiliation of being turfed out of the competition before the big night even arrived.
It’s not just us though. The Macadonian entry managed to swing a proposal live on air and she STILL didn’t get through.
Some may be discouraged by the fact that we’ve now failed to qualify for four years in a row but we Irish are made of tougher stuff and are already planning a return to our former glory in 2018.
Our secret weapon? The Rubberbandits.
The Limerick duo have reportedly been inundated with requests to take to the Eurovision stage and they’ve finally agreed… on one condition.
10th year of people asking us to do Eurovision.OK.But only if it’s exactly this, song and video, no compromise https://t.co/d5aD8iaTtC
