The number of outpatients awaiting hospital consultations reached a new high of 502,482 last month, the Irish Times reports.
It is only the second time that figures have surpassed the half a million mark since December 2014, when the National Treatment Purchase Fund began gathering the data.
Outpatient numbers first went over half a million in December 2017 after climbing steadily from 400,000 in March 2016.
