Who wants to bet that we’re in for a White Christmas?
If you’ve left your house in the past couple of days, you’ll have felt the shock of cold the moment you opened the door. The temperature has dropped dramatically, and it is truly time to get out your hats and scarves and gloves. Touch phones be damned.
High pressure dominates early this week, with sunny spells & frosty nights.
Things change Wednesday as a front moves in, bringing rain followed by blustery showers.
Thursday looks to be settled, before a low pressure system takes over on Friday bringing unsettled wet weather. pic.twitter.com/s9ycQiwOK3

Now Met Éireann seems to forecast the possibility to snow in the near future. Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 0 degrees tomorrow, although Thursday is to be milder, to stick between 5 and 8 degrees. Friday is when the weather is set to plummet. Met Éireann says:
“Friday will be windy with frequent showers. Cold, with some showers possibly turning to sleet in the evening.”
Over the course of Friday evening, they state: “Some showers of sleet or snow are likely over the north and west.”
Saturday will see similar conditions, with “Further scattered showers on Saturday with sunny intervals, some sleet or snow showers possible over high ground in the north.” It’s definitely time to get out those winter coats.
In the meantime, we’ll be dreaming of a White Christmas.
