Following the recent attacks in Manchester and London, the security at this year's Rose of Tralee is going to be upgraded.

According to the Irish Sun, there is going to be armed gardaí at the annual Kerry festival.

There has been increased security at recent concerts and events around the country, including strict regulations on what you can and can't bring into them.

It's understood that units from the Regional Support Unit will be at the event to keep the crowds safe.

The festival usually runs late August every year and draws thousands of people every year.
