There's A Search Operation Underway In Wicklow After A Man Went Overboard This Morning

It is believed the search is for a lobster and crab fisherman.

A major search operation is currently underway off the Arklow coastline in County Wicklow, after a man went overboard from a local fishing vessel earlier this morning, November 16. 

The Arklow lifeboat, along with the Rosslare Lifeboat and the 117 search and rescue helicopter from Waterford are currently on the scene, carrying out a search of the surrounding areas.

The Wicklow Lifeboat crew are also understood to preparing to assist in the operation.

The call was made to emergency services shortly after 9am.

It is believed the search is for a lobster and crab fisherman. The man is understood to be in his late-40s or early-50s, and was one of a crew of three on board the vessel.
