Yesterday was certainly a warm one here in Ireland and today is turning out to be very much the same. The sunshine is most welcome and everyone in the country will be glad to know that it’s expected to stick around for the rest of the week.
Given the competitive nature of Irish people, what we’re all dying to know is which part of the country is the hottest of them all. To find out the answer, who better to turn to than the experts at Met Éireann who have revealed the automatic stations which recorded the highest temperatures yesterday.
Coming out on top was Claremorris in Co. Mayo where it reached a pleasant 20.6 degrees, followed by nearby Newport where the mercury rose to 20.2.
You’d have to go to the most northern point of the country to find the next highest temperature where it was 19.9 degrees at Malin Head, while Mount Dillon in Roscommon got highs of 19.7.
