An explosion was set off outside a bar by a Syrian migrant in the city of Ansbach late last night, killing the attacker and wounding 12 others. It appears the 27-year-old had been targeting a music festival but was refused entry without a ticket.
According to The Journal, the attacker came to Germany two years ago but had been refused a year ago. He had tried to kill himself twice in the past and had spent time in a psychiatric clinic.
This is the third terrorist attack for Southern Germany in the past week – nine died in a shooting in Munich and several people were wounded in an axe attack on a train near Wuerzburg.
