Last night saw the 27th Airports Council International (ACI) Europe General Assembly take place in Paris, where Cork Airport won Best Europe Airport in its category.
They were nominated in the category ‘Under 5 Million Passengers’, and the flight hub of our very own People’s Republic came out on top.
The Best Airport awards are awarded based on the following categories:
•Retail
•Community Relations
•Facilities
•Customer Service/Passenger & Airlines
•Security
•Environmental Awareness
•Operations
Cork Airport scored across the board in each section, which led to them taking the price.
When speaking after the ceremony, the airport’s Managing Director Niall MacCarthy said:
“We are very proud and delighted to win the top prize as Europe’s Best Airport in our category. Cork Airport’s business turnaround strategy has been recognised and endorsed by our leadership peers in the European airport industry.”
And so they should be! Congrats.
