This Is How Much It Costs To Reach Your Weekly Booze Limit

Sure that’s for nothin’.

Men can reach their weekly recommended booze limit for as little as €7.65 while women can do so for just €4.95.

That’s according to a new report by Alcohol Action Ireland (AAI). The findings suggest that men’s weekly limit of 17 standard drinks and the female equivalent of 11 standard drinks can be reached without exactly breaking the bank. 

And there you are dropping nearly 100 quid on a night out. AAI spokesman Eunan McKinney said:

“Ireland has a significant crisis with alcohol. Recent data regrettably demonstrates that our consumption level continues to rise.

“The central drivers of such high-risk consumption are price and availability and, in this context, given the scale of known alcohol related harms, it would be unwise now for our government to consider any lowering of current excise regime.”
