Ireland has its fair share of super luxurious castles and resorts that are open for people to stay in, and one of the most well known is in County Clare.

Dromoland Castle, a five-star estate and golf resort, has announced a €20 million renovation programme to preserve the building and its 330 acres of land.

Dromoland Castle has announced a €20 million renovation programme that’s planned to preserve both the building and its 330 acres of surrounding land.

Hospitality Ireland report that the hotel directors have assured any new features will be carefully integrated with the original historic structures of the castle.

“Many of the public rooms, such as the drawing room or lower gallery still look and feel as they would have done when Lord Inchiquin’s family lived here throughout the 1800s.

“This restoration programme will combine all the modern luxuries expected of a five-star property with the unique welcoming atmosphere and sense of history that a stay at Dromoland Castle offers our guests”, managing director Mark Nolan said.

The renovations include an interior design upgrade of all castle bedrooms, brand new luxury en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom, specialised conservation stone façade repair works to the castle exterior and towers, double glazed windows to all bedrooms and public areas throughout the castle,a new castle courtyard and limestone steps at the main entrance of the castle, and the purchase of a fleet of new golf buggies as well as the opening of a golf academy.

Fan-cy.

Over 100,000 residential guests stay in Dromoland Castle every year, with previous famous guests including Nelson Mandella and Mohammad Ali.

This is a renovation we’re gonna be very excited to see.
