Cathal Mac Coille, known to almost everyone as the voice behind Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1, has retired.
He broadcasted his last show yesterday morning, after almost 20 years on the air.
Tributes have been pouring in for the presenter since the news was announced, and his coworkers gave him a present to remember his time on the air.
And it’s – quite possibly – one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever seen.
Everyone knows that people in media get given a lot of stick for anything and everything they do, and Cathal was no stranger to his own trolls.
His coworkers wanted to remind him of this, to make sure he don’t lose the run of himself, complete with hashtag and everything.
