This Weekend Will See Heavy And Widespread Rain Across Ireland

James Fenton

It’s fair to say the Easter Bank Holiday a couple of weeks back wasn’t the best in terms of weather and it seems this long weekend won’t be any better.

Met Éireann are predicting a bit of a washout, particularly on Sunday, with the forecast for the day being:

‘Cloudy, misty and breezy, with fresh easterly winds to start the day. The rain looks set to become widespread as the day progresses and will be heavy in many places, but the winds will become moderate later and variable in direction.

Top temperatures 10 to 13 C. Further rain at times overnight.’

It sounds like Sunday is definitely the day to stay in then. It’s not all bad as though as Saturday and Monday will see some dry and bright spells and it seems like Friday is when the weekend’s best weather will take hold:

‘Friday will be a mainly dry day, with a mix of sunny spells and cloudy periods. Any showers will be light and well scattered, with most places dry. Highest temperatures 10 to 13 C., in moderate southwesterly breezes.’
