Two Weather Warnings For 17 Counties On Same Day Snow Confirmed On Paddy's Day By Met Éireann

Just great.

Weather

We honestly don't know what to believe any more about Irish weather.

On Tuesday morning it was announced that Met Éireann were forecasting snow for Ireland on St. Patrick's Day and the whole country did not know how to feel about it.

Now, as you can recall, before Storm Emma we got a lot of weather warnings, ranging from yellow to orange before finally we hit a red alert.

These warnings were all snow and ice related and there was no confusion about what was coming our way.

Well, in a similar fashion, Met Éireann issued two weather warnings following that news but neither warnings are anything to do with snowfall.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning has been issued for Leinster, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford

The forecaster says that: "Southeast winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h. Winds strongest along southern areas at first but gradually extending to all parts of Leinster by late morning and afternoon."

It will be in place from 8am on Wednesday morning until 6pm on Wednesday evening.

As well as this, there is also a Status Yellow Rainfall Warning for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford

According to Met Éireann, "a spell of rain tonight and tomorrow Wednesday will lead to accumulations of 30 to 50mm with a risk of localized flooding. There is the potential for higher accumulations in mountainous areas."

This warning is in place from Tuesday at 11pm until Wednesday at 11:59pm.

All we need is a heatwave warning and that should be all four seasons covered.
