Need to pay for something with your card tonight? We’re hoping you’ve got a back up plan, as Visa cards are acting up for people all over Europe.
A glitch within the company is preventing payments from being processed and the scale of it is not yet known, although it’s been an issue for several hours now.
As people start to head out after work, a slight mass panic ensued as Irish folk realised they can’t use their trusty piece of plastic to pay for anything – cue a full-on apocalypse.
People are sharing photos of looooong queues for the ATM around the country:

Visa said in a statement this evening that: “We are currently experiencing a service disruption which is preventing some Visa transactions in Europe from being processed. We are investigating the cause and working as quickly as possible to resolve the situation. We will keep you updated.”
