Shane Lowry is playing at the first golf major of the year in San Francisco this weekend and it seems frustration got the better of him on day two of the competition.
Open champion Shane Lowry is competing at the 2020 PGA Championship and he started the day brightly yesterday with birdies on the first and fifth holes. However, things took a turn for the worse when three straight bogeys before another one on the 13th hole led to a moment of frustration which was picked up by the cameras.
As the Offaly man watched his shot go awry, he proceeded to raise his knee and snap his club over it and you can catch the moment towards the end of the clip below…
Snap! Shane Lowry will finish his round with one less club in the bag! 😤

It’s a far cry from the joy Lowry experienced in Portrush in July of last year when he won the Open and he’ll certainly hope things go better for him when he takes to the course today.
The PGA Championship is taking place this weekend after being postponed in May due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s the first of three majors that are due to take place this year, with the US open currently scheduled to follow in September, followed by the Masters in November. The Open, of which Shane Lowry is the current champion, will not take place in 2020 after a decision was made to cancel it back in April.
