A Weather Advisory Warning Is In Place For 18 Counties According To Met Éireann

Darragh Berry

In Ireland, we really do live in a country where it is quite possible to get four seasons of weather in one day.

If you don’t believe us, then this might change your mind…

This morning, it was suggested that the “Beast From The East” could be returning hard for a second coming to these shores on St. Patrick’s Day

However, at lunchtime on Monday, Met Éireann issued a Status Yellow Weather Advisory warning for 18 counties and for the first time in a long time, it doesn’t involve the word ‘snow’.

The national forecaster says that: “very wet and windy weather is expected to affect mainly Munster and south Leinster during Wednesday.

The warning is being put in place for the entire of Wednesday (14 March) from 12:02am until 11:59pm.

For the rest of the country, Wednesday will be a wet and very windy day with southeast winds increasing further strong to gale force and gusty.

Widespread rain will be persistent and heavy, especially over the southern half of the country. Top temperatures will range 8 to 11 degrees.

On Wednesday night there will be further outbreaks of rain and it will continue rather windy. It will be a frost free night with lowest temperatures staying around 6 or 7 degrees.
