A status orange rainfall warning is in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 12 noon today until 3am tonight.
“Rain will turn heavy and persistent this afternoon and persist for a time overnight. Rainfall totals of 30-40mm are expected widely with potential for accumulations of around 50mm in coastal and upland areas. The rain will be accompanied by strong and gusty southerly winds.”
A status yellow rainfall warning is also in place for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary from 3pm today until 3am tonight.
“Outbreaks of locally heavy rain moving in this afternoon and persisting for a time overnight. Rainfall accumulations of 30mm are possible in places, with potential for 40mm in upland areas. The rain will be accompanied by a fresh to strong and gusty southerly wind.”
