Three Serious Weather Warnings In Place For Ireland Today As Last Of Storm Erik Hits
Met Eireann have added some 'Storm Erik Commentary and advice' also
Ireland was hit hard by Storm Erik on Thursday night and Friday and while Saturday was reasonably quiet, Sunday is set to pick up speed again as Storm Erik leaves Ireland.
Met Eireann has issued three warnings for Sunday as the last of Storm Erik hits.
There's a status Yellow, Wind warning for these six counties: Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare.
These will experience "Westerly winds reaching mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/h with gusts of up to 90 to 110km/h."
It's in place from 10am this morning until 7pm tonight.
As well as this, there's a status yellow gale warning in place as well as a status yellow small craft warning.
"Westerly winds will increase gale or strong gale force on Irish coastal waters from Loop Head to Erris Head to Malin Head and later today from Carlingford Lough to Wicklow Head to Roche's Point and on the Irish Sea."
"Westerly winds will reach force 6 or higher today on Irish coasts from Roche's Point to Valentia to Loop Head."
Both of these were issued on Sunday morning at 6am.
