Storm Dennis could affect Ireland this weekend

Storm Dennis

Storm Ciara has only just departed but it’s looking like Ireland could soon be dealing with Storm Dennis.

Storm Ciara brought heavy rain and strong wind to parts of Ireland and it was followed by snowy conditions in many parts of the country.

A Status Yellow snow/ice warning remains in place for all of the country while a Status Yellow wind warning is valid for seven counties until later this evening.

While the weather is set to stabilise on Thursday, it may be short-lived as the Met Office in the United Kingdom has named the next storm – Storm Dennis – which is approaching but is not expected to be as extreme as Storm Ciara.

Met Eireann has yet to comment on the potential impact of Storm Dennis, although Carlow Weather has suggested that Ireland could be hit with quite a bit of rain and wind this weekend as a result of the storm.

Carlow Weather was first to warn of how Ireland could be affected by Storm Ciara last week so it might be a good idea to monitor that Twitter account for upcoming updates.

Weather warnings from Met Eireann are possible over the weekend but it’s too early to tell how severely Ireland will be affected.
