Weekend Weather Warning – We’re In For a Wet And Windy One

Megan Cassidy

Hope you haven’t forgotten where you stashed the brolly.

Just as we were about to put the Winter gear to the back of the wardrobe, the weather has turned for the worse again.

Sunny days are a distant memory as we prepare for a wild weekend, with Met Eireann a status yellow weather warning for wind last night, in place until this morning.

But don’t despair – it’s set to calm down on Saturday with “a mix of sunny spells and showers, but most places will have a lot of dry weather. Highest temperatures of 11C to 14Cin light southerly or variable winds.”

No such luck for those on the West coast where showers are expected to continue on through Saturday with temperature lows of 2 – 5C.

According to the forecaster, Sunday will be more of the same:

Sunday will start mainly dry and bright with some sunshine. However, showers will develop again in the afternoon and a few will be heavy. Highest temperatures of 12C to 14C in just light breezes. The showers will die out early Sunday night and another cold night will follow with some grass frost.”

We see the couch and Netflix in our future.
