Yikes – WhatsApp Won’t Work On Some Phones In The New Year

From January 2018 onwards, the app will no longer work on certain phones.

In a blog post, the company said anyone currently using one of the following phones would no longer be able to operate the app in the new year. 

From New Years Day onward, WhatsApp will no longer work on BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokie Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7 and iPhone 3GS/ iOS 6. 

The company stated that the decision was made to “focus efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use”.
