11 Of The Most Deliciously Indulgent French Cafés in Ireland You Have To Try

If there’s one thing we don’t eat enough of over here, it’s French food.

An ‘aul slice pan is nice, but it doesn’t come near French bread – which is available in every imaginable shape and size.

Add some charcuterie plates, fromage and some ‘fresh out of the oven’ crumbling croissants and you’ve got a recipe for the best meal ever.

If I still haven’t convinced you that should be eating croissants and pain au chocolat all day long, then you just need to try it for yourself in any one of these gorgeous French cafés.

1. Rouge, Galway

The menu here is enough to make you drool; with cheese platters, meat platters and a wine selection as long as your arm. You could most definitely spend a few hours here so why not make lunch turn into dinner?

2. Petit Delice, Kerry

This little spot is so good that Kerry has it twice; one branch in Killarney and one in Cahirciveen. The intimate and cosy settings provide the perfect place to scoff one (or two or three) of their many delicious pastries.

3. Bácús, Kerry

The name might scream Gaeilge, but the food does not. The artisan breads produced here taste like heaven. Seriously.

4. The French Rooms, Antrim

This little gem is only open Wednesday to Sunday, so you have less time to taste every glorious thing they have on offer. Once you eat in either the cosy café rooms or on the terrace with the sun shining, you won’t want to leave.

5. Miel et Moi, Belfast

For a slightly more boozy café option, you should go no further than Miel et Moi. Their drinks are curated with the utmost attention and the baked goods are baked fresh everyday, with breakfast served until 4:30pm. Heaven.

You can pop in here for a quick treat, or a sit-down meal. Either way, you’ll be glad you came.

11. L’atitude Wine Café, Cork

The menu here is so varied and light. Perfect if you want a snack, but enough is available should you want to fill up. Also, there’s French wine. Need I say more?
