Coca Cola is hosting a wonderful event for recent graduates

Calling all graduates! Are you looking for your next exciting opportunity? Well, you are being encouraged to ‘Discover your secret ingredient’ with Coca-Cola HBC’s #YouthEmpowered programme. Here’s the craic with it.

Entrepreneurs Aimee Connolly, Kyle Gawley and Former Navy Captain Marie Gleeson are among the experts helping graduates to fast-track career prospects through these wonderful events. The programme consists of a free webinar series and mentoring which are running as part of this year’s gradireland’s virtual Summer Fair.

Having launched on Wednesday, June 16, Coca-Cola HBC’s #YouthEmpowered programme gears up to give a helping hand to the almost 70,000 students who are preparing to graduate into a highly diverse and competitive jobs market. It is designed by students, for students and aims to help participants across the island of Ireland stand out in the competitive post-pandemic jobs market.

Commenting on her involvement, ‘Sculpted by Aimee’ founder Aimee Connolly said, “I’m delighted to be joining the #YouthEmpowered webinar panel, giving graduates an insight into my journey. Starting off your career can be challenging but understanding your passions and your unique selling points can really give you the confidence to stand-out from the crowd.

“I worked hard to develop my craft and understand the chemistry of the beauty industry, but it was the soft skills I developed, like communication, networking and negotiation skills, that ultimately helped me to grow ‘Sculpted by Aimee’ into the international brand it is today.”

Coca-Cola HBC has, in partnership with CEMs students at UCD Smurfit School, conducted research to find out exactly what it is that employers look for in today’s job market and how students want to learn and access career support.

The free webinar series will be hosted by renowned industry specialists and some of the country’s largest employers. As part of this year’s special 5th-anniversary programme, self-guided e-learning modules are also available to access for free!

Participating in the first webinar this Wednesday, June 23 at 3pm will be 2021 EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist Aimee Connolly, former Irish Navy Captain and motivational speaker Marie Gleeson, and Belfast-born tech entrepreneur and author Kyle Gawley.

Who can attend? Students, graduates, job seekers and anyone interested in discovering their secret ingredient can register their attendance and book their one-to-one careers mentorship session at summergradfair.ie.

Following on from the first webinar, ‘Discover Your Secret Ingredient!’ on June 23, the programme will continue. In August, the second webinar will take place called Advice from the Top, when Coca-Cola HBC’s senior management team will share an insight into their career journeys.

In September, you can attend What Employers Want where leading employers from across Ireland and Northern Ireland come together to share an insight into how candidates can stand out from the crowd.

In September and October, Coca-Cola HBC will partner with colleges through ‘real-world’ projects, job shadowing opportunities and mentoring, which will then culminate in a skills day for graduates at the Coca-Cola HBC offices.

In between these events, you can avail of some of the other wonderful supports, such as #YouthEmowered e-learning modules which are free through ie.coca-colahellenic.com. Plus, Newsletters with job opportunities, guidance and career stories will be shared with all those registered at summergradfair.ie.

#YouthEmpowered is now in its fifth year and is one of a number of initiatives that Coca-Cola HBC is championing, together with the Coca-Cola Company, with the aim of supporting young people across the island of Ireland by delivering online content, training modules and mentoring support. It has already provided free training and advice to more than 3,500 young people since it started in 2016.
