What’s the best colour paint to make a small dark room feel bright and fresh?
Go for a shade of white – there are so many shades to choose from but ultimately you’ll be going for a warm white or a cool white. Warm white is a very welcoming and relaxing shade, so it’s perfect for a living space or a bedroom. Cool white is very contemporary and sharp. Either way – these tones always make the space seem bigger and brighter.
Is it overkill to use statement knobs/handles on every door in the house?
This is entirely subjective but Shauna believes that statement hardware is a fantastic way of adding flair to your home. It’s not permanent, so at the end of the day you can change it as your tastes change! It’s your home, so if it’s what you enjoy and it makes you happy – go for it!

What are their tips for WFH spaces in small properties?
Every home, no matter how small, has some little nook or cranny you can turn into a working from home space. Whether it’s under the stairs, an alcove in your bedroom or even your wardrobe, Shauna recommends browsing through Pinterest to find ideas that suit your space. The two main things to consider is that it’s functional and that you can hide it at the end of the day because no one wants to be looking at their work all evening long!
Navy tiles and navy paint in a small bathroom, good idea or not?
Again, this is totally subjective, but if our expert was using a dark, bold tile colour, she would go lighter on the walls so that the space doesn’t feel too small. However, if you’re looking for an intimate feel – go for it!
