Thank the Lord, festival season is upon us once more! And what better way to kick it off than with Life?
That’s right, my friends, Life Festival returns to Belvedere House this month for a three-day shindig that’s all about good music, positive vibes and loving life in general.
Sounds like a good time to us.
While Life has become known for hosting the very best in electronic artists, there’s a whole lot more to it than just music.
Here’s our quick guide to Life Festival 2017.
Music
Okay, I know we just said there’s more to Life than music, but we have to at least start with it.
The festival’s line-up blends live bands and alternative electronic acts in the genres of psytrance, progressive, dub, breaks, drum & bass, electronica and the like.
Expect big names like Duke Dumont, Rudimental, DJ EZ, Eats Everything, Format B and many more to make an appearance.
Visual arts
The shows will have more going for them than just the music.
The main stage will boast slick live motion graphics, provided by Algorithm, to entrance the crowds.
Wide range of performance
When you’re between music acts there’s still plenty going on to keep you entertained.
Keep your eyes peeled for the various street performers that will be wandering about: jugglers, hula hoopers and circus acts galore.
Good eats
You won’t have to make do with subpar sambos around here, oh no.
The big blue bus from the Bernard Shaw will be parked up to give the hungry masses their daily dose of gourmet stone pizza, garlic bread, bruschetta, shisha pipes, desserts, Moroccan teas and more.
So you’re not exactly roughing it out in the wilderness.
Art installations
If you’re at this celebration of music then you’re clearly an appreciator of the arts.
Lucky for you there will be two art installations on site for you to enjoy over the three-day weekend, those of Giant Boombox by Audio Jack and Cubes Installation by Etaoin Melville.
Funky shops
A funky festival requires some funky retailers, after all.
The likes of Fresh and Babooshka will be on hand to sell reworked vintage for the crowd to get their outfits just right.
Cos if you don’t look like you went to a festival, did you even really go?
Weird classes
Not only will you have a great time at Life, you might even learn something.
There will be a Reggae Yoga workshop taking place to help festival goers align their chakras while jammin’ to some classic Bob Marley.
At least that’s what we think will happen. The only way you’re really gonna know is by giving it a whirl.
