More customers opting for healthy orders on Just Eat since lockdown

Sarah Finnan

Just Eat is wishing customers a happier second half of the year, describing  July 1st as ‘2020 2.0’.

This year has gotten off to a rocky start but thankfully, there are better times on the horizon. With restrictions starting to ease and businesses across the country reopening their doors, many people are busy trying to balance returning to work with this ‘new normal’.

Hoping to help make things a little easier, Just Eat is taking the stress out of lunchtime adding loads of different healthy options to their ever-expanding menu. Also offering contact-free delivery, customers can order from their favourite local eatery and have it brought straight to their door – whether that’s to your home or your office.

With many looking forward to a winter of sport, customers’ menu choices seem to reflect this over the past few weeks. Noting a 220 per cent increase in the number of healthy orders put in during lockdown, Just Eat has pooled Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Kilkenny and Wexford as some of the healthiest counties in Ireland. All with their eyes on the prize and getting down to some serious pre-season training – a further sign that resolutions set in the second half of the year could have a better chance than those long forgotten in January.

Speaking of the different options available to customers returning to work, Edel Kinane, Commercial Director at Just Eat Ireland said:

“We’ve all seen how difficult it is to judge our new normal, while also maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Working from home, keeping the kids entertained and on top of their schoolwork and reconnecting with loved ones after months spent apart, while also trying to serve up a balanced lunch and dinner for all the family.

“As many of us prepare for a return to a workplace that’s very different from the one we left behind in March, Just Eat is delighted to welcome a host of great new eateries offering wholesome healthy options for contact-free delivery straight to your home or office door.”
