1. Electric at The Civic Theatre
Getting impatient for festival season to kick off in earnest? Electric, a hilarious new play at The Civic Theatre next month, is the perfect way to get an early taste of that feel-good summer vibe.
Baby wipes and glitter at the ready, Joni and Scarlett head off to Electric Picnic in this play that received a five-star rating in The Arts Review. From two walks of life and residing on two sides of the festival, the pair unexpectedly meet in the neon fields of Electric Picnic.
Hysterically riotous and soul-stirring, Electric gets the festival party started, leaving you feeling uplifted and with sore cheeks from laughing!

2. Love Sensation at Royal Hospital Kilmainham
There’s a brand new music festival on the horizon and it’s going to be full of fun, good music and good times.
Love Sensation is “a next generation two-day music and arts festival aimed at the LGBT+ community and their many friends.” Love Sensation sees Lily Allen, Clean Bandit, Gossip and Kelis top the bill across the weekend. Who else could host the main stage for the weekend, there really is only one woman for the job – step forward Panti Bliss! Expect tons of surprises from The George stage, a Mother Dance Tent you won’t want to leave and a host of RuPaul Drag Queens brought to you by Dublin drag legends ‘Dragged Up’ including Monet X Change, Naomi Smalls, Jujubee, Laganja Estranja & Sonique!

3. Thrive Festival
We’ve covered drama, comedy and music – let’s bring things back to basic with a healthy dose of wellness.
Thrive Festival is a brand new bespoke health, fitness and wellness event and the best part is it’s all about YOU.
Experiences are tailored to match your objectives and demonstrations will be given on wellness, mindfulness and plenty of other techniques which will help you feel good about yourself, your body and your health.

4. OFFSET Dublin
If you’ve never been to or heard of this super creative event, where the hell have you been?
Kicking off its 10th year, Offset has fast become one of the world’s most inspirational, educational conferences for the design and creative industries.
With past line ups featuring icons such as Tomi Ungerer, George Lois, Stefan Sagmeister, Louise Fili and maaaaany many more, this year is going to be bigger and better than ever. Arrive with expectations and leave knowing they have been massively exceeded – I can honestly say this is my favourite weekend of the year.

5. MusicTown
Calling all music lovers (so pretty much everyone, right?) this two-week celebration is right up your street!
This year, MusicTown is all about collaboration and diversity in all its forms and artists from across the musical spectrum will gather in Dublin to create unforgettable musical moments.
An exciting new addition to the programme this year will see a specially curated programme of events for children, run from April 5 – 12, encouraging music lovers of all ages to take part.

6. Jason Byrne at Vicar St.
There’s nothing like a good belly laugh to get the weekend kicked off.
Jason Byrne returns with his brand-new show, You Can Come In, But Don’t Start Anything next month for two nights at Vicar St.
Every night stars are born, friendships are formed, mascara is ruined and pants are binned. Don’t miss the chance to become part of this unique comedy experience but don’t forget to bring spare pants!
No one show is the same – you can expect all the usual spontaneous fun from the “King of Comedy” at this gig.

7. RuPaul’s Drag Race – Werq The World
The most fabulous, feel-good show on earth is coming to Dublin in a whirlwind of perfume and powder this May.
Werq the World: The Official RuPaul’s Drag Race World Tour will be led by Michelle Visage as she takes voyagers on a journey to save the universe with the help of her intergalactic queens including Aquaria, Kameron Michaels, Asia O’Hara, Kim Chi, Naomi Smalls, Monét X Change and Violet Chachki.

8. Menopause The Musical
This hilarious musical has developed a cult following – and if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to make it your business!
Menopause The Musical (MTM) which has been a smash hit from the United States to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Seen by over 8.7 million women (and the men that love them) in 110 cities and nine countries, the show is a phenomenon which has been entertaining and inspiring women since 2001.
This is a hilarious and touching celebration of the lighter side of life with guaranteed belly laughs – you’ll leave feeling seriously uplifted.

9. The Greatest Showman screening
Hugh Jackman sang and danced his way into our lives last year, bringing us one of the most memorable soundtracks in a generation in the form of The Greatest Showman.
The movie had cinema-goers dancing in the aisles upon its release and songs such as This Is Me and A Million Dreams have become international anthems, not only for their catchy verses but also for the positive messages they send.
Those who missed all the fun in the theatre though will have another chance to get in on the act when Axis Ballymun puts on a screening of The Greatest Showman, along with performances from local dance troupe, Threads.
An added element to an already world-class spectacle. You won’t want to miss it.

10. Enya Martin – Would You Be Able?
We regularly share Enya’s hilarious videos on Facebook when we feel like everyone could do with a little pick-me-up (ie. Tuesday morning, before coffee).
Stand up comedian, writer and creator of the famous Giz a Laugh Facebook page, Enya has successfully made the transition from creating comedy videos online to performing on the live stage.
Enya has performed in the Laughter Lounge, Vodafone Comedy Carnival, Vodafone Comedy Festival, she also sold out at this year’s Jest Fest in Wexford, as well as 3 different nights at Dublin’s Vicar Street.
Enya’s stand up show is comedy dynamite: Family, boyfriends, shop assistants, self-serve scanners and taxi drivers are all on her hit list.
