This is super interesting.

In light of the current environmental crisis, people are trying to reduce their carbon footprint and be more conscious and sustainable.

To aid those interested, there is a Zero Waste Walking Tour of Cork City.

There has been a huge interest in this event, with the first tour date booking out.

Two guided tours will commence on Saturday July 20th and will guide you through the best places to bulk-buy and avoid excess packaging.

The tour is free but places are booking out quickly!

Made a trip to the wonderful Twig bulk buy store in Clonakilty before Christmas. They have a great selection of loose dry goods (nuts, pulses, grains, spices and more) and you can bring your own containers and pay by weight. . They also have a load of eco-friendly cleaning, beauty and sanitary products. I got some dry goods there (which are long ago eaten 😂) but also some dental products - a bamboo toothbrush (that is not wrapped in plastic which I found hard to find in the city!), silk floss and refills (instead of the usual plastic which I love) and natural toothpaste (which I am not used to yet, it’s made from coconut oil and is non-foaming so it’s verrry different toothpaste but maybe in time I’ll get used to the feeling, if not there’s the toothpaste tabs option to try!). . Their sister store Olive Branch is directly across the courtyard and also has a great selection of plastic free fruit/veg and other eco-friendly alternatives. Worth a visit! . . . #plasticfreecork #cork #corkfood #plasticfree #bulkbuy #buyinbulk #sustainableliving #sustainability

The tour, organised by Cork Zero Waste will run for one hour.

If you’re heading along, organisers advise bringing a reusable water bottle and shopping bag as there may be an opportunity to do some shopping along the way.
