Met Éireann have pinpointed the day we can expect temperatures to soar.

Met Éireann have predicted that we may get a brief reprieve from the miserable weather we’ve been having lately with a lovely sunny day set to arrive at the end of the week.

In the national forecast this morning, it was predicted that Saturday, October 7, will see temperatures rise into the 20s, with sunny spells dominating most areas of the country.

Met Éireann pinpoint day temperatures are set to soar this week.

Unfortunately for the north and west of Ireland, there may be some patchy rain, but hopefully everyone can enjoy some late summer conditions throughout the day.

We will, however, have to enjoy it while it lasts because, in the same forecast, it looks like Sunday will see a return to cooler conditions and rain tracking across the country.

Backing up the forecast, Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather has also said that this coming Saturday is set to be a glorious one saying that “BBQ Saturday looks to be on!”

National weather forecast for Ireland.

While we can all look forward to this coming Saturday, it looks like we’ll have to endure the gloom for the rest of the week first.

Here’s what Met Éireann have said about the upcoming Irish weather in their national forecast.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be a fresh, breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers, which will become more isolated through the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds, coolest in the northwest and mildest in the southeast.

Cloud increasing countrywide on Tuesday night with outbreaks of rain developing in the northwest. Largely dry elsewhere, with just isolated showers near Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Mostly light to moderate southwest winds over land will continue fresh to strong and gusty near coasts.

Wednesday

Mostly cloudy on Wednesday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, heaviest and most persistent in the west and north. The best of the drier and brighter intervals will be in the south and southeast. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, coolest in the north in moderate to fresh, and at times gusty, southwesterly winds easing later in the day. Mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle retreating to the west and north on Wednesday night. Light to moderate south to southwest winds, fresher along Atlantic coasts. Lows of 10 to 13 degrees.

Thursday

Mostly cloudy on Thursday with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Becoming breezy in the afternoon as southerly winds increase moderate to fresh and gusty. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees. Continuing damp and breezy on Thursday night, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle retreating to the west and north. Lows of 11 to 14 degrees moderate southerly breezes fresh and gusty near coasts.

Friday

Mild, damp and mostly cloudy to begin on Friday with patchy rain and drizzle. Brightening up through the day with sunny spells developing in most parts by evening. Breezy with moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds and highs of 17 to 19 degrees.

Next weekend

Current indications for Saturday suggest a rather warm day with maximum temperatures in the high teens or low 20s. Patchy rain in the west and north but mainly dry with sunny spells elsewhere. Transitioning to cooler conditions on Sunday with rain tracking eastwards over the country followed by showers.
