Bus Éireann Customers In Line For Refunds Worth Hundreds After Strike

Thousands of Bus Éireann customers all around the country are set to be refunded following the now 20-day-strike the company undertook over March and April.

According to the Irish Independent, the strike is set to be called off tomorrow, April 14, ending what could have been a three week long hiatus.

But what about those who’d bought bus passes prior to knowing about the strike?

According to the Irish Times, holders of annual and monthly Bus Éireann passes will be able to claim back substantial refunds from the transport company due to the ongoing strike. However, those keen to claim their refunds will have to wait until the dispute between unions and management ends prior to making a claim.

Those who’d bought annual and monthly bus tickets on Leap Cards will be issued with a refund based on the value of their ticket and number of days travel lost due to the ongoing strike.

Those who wish to make a claim should email [email protected] with their relevant Leap Card numbers and details. The appropriate amount will then be transferred back into owners’ accounts, followed by an informative email to make the customer aware of the transaction.

However, not everyone will be receiving refunds.

Bus Éireann has also been reported as saying:

“For other ticket types, no refunds will be made on any partially used tickets including 10 Journey tickets in any circumstances.”
