Conor McGregor has been suspended for a month by the UFC following the defeat to Nurmagomedov last Saturday.

His attempt to win the lightweight title was thwarted by the Russain in the fourth round which ended with McGregor tapping out.

After the chaotic scenes at the end of the fight, McGregor called for a rematch, but the UFC has decided to suspend the Irishman for a month.

According toThe Mirror, the decision was made on medical grounds and Conor will not be allowed any contact until the 28th of October.

An official line on the suspension reads: “Conor McGregor: Suspended until 6/11/18, no contact until 28/10/18.”

Khabib passed all medical examinations after finishing the fight relatively unharmed.

Three of Khabib’s team were arrested after the incident at the end of the fight which saw Conor getting punched in the back of the head.

However, video footage shows that while Khabib instigates that melee by jumping out the cage, Conor appears to be the first to swing at one of Khabib’s cornermen.
