These 22 Counties Are Going To Be Hit With ‘High-Intensity Rainfall’ Today

James Fenton

The weather looks nothing short of bright and breezy outside at the time of writing but don’t let it fool you.

Following on from Met Éireann’s warning yesterday, the Irish weather experts have now issued a more specific message indicating that 22 Irish counties should expect ‘high intensity rainfall in scattered thunderstorms leading to spot flooding.’

The counties affected are the whole of Leinster as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford with between 25 and 50 mm of rainfall expected to land.

Given that it’s a Bank Holiday weekend, perhaps your boss will be kind enough to let you leggit home before the rain hits.

Then again, perhaps not.
