Cork's design and food festival

A celebration of innovation, creativity and of course, Cork, Design Pop will return later this year for a second run.

Design Pop, Cork’s design and food festival will return for a second run later this year following on from a hugely successful debut in Spring 2019.

Bringing together six top Irish designers, they have teamed up to create six pop-up installation structures – each of which will be on display in various locations across the city over the course of three days.

Each designer has been paired with a Cork-based food or drink producer to come up with a unique space for the public to interact with and explore.

Last year saw designers such as Shane O’Driscoll, Alan MAcilwraith, Fíor Studios, Meitheal Architects, Conor Merriman and Alex  Pentex collaborating with food experts Banana Melon, Good Day Deli, All Full up, My Goodness, Soma and Applebee cakes.

As for this year? All will be revealed in the coming weeks.

There will be a jam-packed programme of events including exhibitions, talks and workshops all of which will take place within the bespoke structures around Cork.

Speaking of the event, festival director Amy McKeogh said:

“Design POP’s first year was a huge success and a wonderful experience for all involved. Design POP celebrated Cork, Design and Food in new and exciting ways. I am really looking forward to seeing how we build on the success of last year to see what is created this year by all the talented collaborators.”

The design and food festival is set to take place May 22nd – 24th.
