Get you a drive-thru that does both.

The rise of the drive-thru café in Ireland came to full fruition over the various lockdowns – you’d have been hard pressed to find a more covid-safe activity than going for coffee in your car. The handiness can’t be understated and they’re a warmly welcomed addition to the Irish coffee scene – but this combo is one we’ve never seen before.

Newly opened on the outskirts of Cork City you’ll find Thrive Coffee. Located on the Curaheen Road in Bishopstown, the café has everything a good drive-thru should – speciality beans from West Cork’s Stone Valley Roasters, creamy milk to accompany from Galvin Farms and a tasty selection of treats, gluten free and otherwise – with the added option to pull up for a carwash while sipping on your brew.

Thrive is the brainchild of two couples who had separate coffee trailer businesses over lockdown, and have now come together to bring the drive-thru experience to Bishopstown.

The hand carwash onsite is over 40 years old with the same staff members staying on as part of the new venture, so you can be guaranteed a superior scrub for your motor. Simply pull up after collecting your coffee and let the experts do their thing.

Thrive’s prices are relatively reasonable for speciality coffee starting at €3 for an Americano and €3.50 for milky coffees and between €2.50 and €3 for treats. They’re open from 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday.
