Drunk Irish Man Trespassed And Stayed In Hot Press Until Found

Darragh Berry

An Irish man who was convicted of trespassing, as well as other charges, was found in a woman’s hot press, Galway Daily reports.

Court reporter, Kate Robinson states that the Galway native entered the woman’s home while she was away. The publication has named the man in question.

She returned home to find the front door wide open and her frightened daughter left to go upstairs while the man was in a sitting room chair.

“He was a mess – injured, drunk, incoherent,” she said in the court.

She thought he had left as she called Gardaí but only to realise that she found him curled up in the hot press.

“I was calm because I didn’t want to frighten my children. And I wanted him to stay calm.”

In a separate incident in late 2017, when being examined by a doctor, “O’Connor suddenly lunged at him, knocking him off his chair, headbutted him and attempted to bite and scratch him.”
