If you have this in your house, you need to get rid of it immediately.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has confirmed that Dunnes Stores issued an urgent recall of one of their popular own brand products.

The company is recalling a batch of its slow roasted turkey slices as the implicated batch was labelled with an incorrect ‘use-by’ date.

The batches affected have ‘use-by’ date of 22/11/2018 and pack sizes 120g are affected.

The recall comes under a category 2 and the FSAI explains that:

“Category 2 alerts are issued for information relating to food safety, but not detailing or requiring any specific action to be taken.

“These alerts will clearly set out what is known about the food (including product name, batch/production codes, size of containers, durability dates, etc.), and the hazard.

Food alerts are notifications issued by the FSAI to official agencies and food businesses or other businesses relating to an identified hazard i.e. a biological, chemical or physical agent in, or condition of, food/food contact materials with the potential to cause an adverse health effect.”

On the other hand, Category 1 alerts are only issued when there is an identified risk to consumers and action needs to be taken by official agencies and/or food businesses or other businesses.

If you have this product in your house, you need to get rid of it immediately and bring it back to the shop where it was purchased where you will be granted with a refund or replacement.
