There is a warning in place.

Met Éireann has warned that there is a risk of flooding in some places across Ireland as heavy rain overnight and throughout today is causing disruption.

A Status Yellow rain warning is currently in place for the entire country until 8pm this evening, with the forecaster saying that heavy or thundery pulses of rain last night and today could lead to a disruption of travel and localised flooding.

A Status Orange rain warning is also now in place for three counties in the south east, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow, until midday today as Met Éireann warns of “very intense falls of rain possible” and flooding in places.

The UK Met Office has issued a Yellow rain warning for all six counties in Northern Ireland until midnight.

Met Éireann said: “Some very intense falls of rain continuing for a time with flooding in places.

“Heavy or thundery pulses of rain Sunday night and Monday will lead to flooding in places.”
