Freezing Cold Weather On The Way For The Entire Country This Weekend

Shirleydonlon

After a mild few days, it looks like the normal, freezing cold, weather is set to return.

A Status Yellow low temperature weather warning was issued last night, and it looks like the cold weather is here to stay – at least for the weekend anyway.

Met Éireann has issued this weekend’s weather forecast and if you’re thinking of heading out on the town, you’ll need to wrap up warm.

Friday will be mostly cloudy, with a little drizzle mainly on hills and coasts in the south and west.

Ulster and east Leinster will see some bright, sunny intervals beginning in the late afternoon. There will also be gusty southeasterly winds, which will be strong at times near Atlantic coasts.

Friday’s maximum temperatures will range between 5 and 7 degrees.

Saturday will be cloudy to begin, but it will become brighter and sunnier during the afternoon.

Top temperatures will be just 4 to 6 degrees in the east and north, but will reach 7 or 8 degrees further west and south, and sub-zero temperatures can be expected on Saturday night leading to widespread frost.

Sunday is set to be sunny but cold, with highs of just 4 to 7 degrees. Sunday night will see widespread sharp to severe frost with easterly breezes.

So although we thought the wintry weather was finally coming to an end, it looks like it’s here to stay for a little while longer.

Wrap up warm, folks!
