Garda And Civilian Taken To Hospital Following Crash In Co Limerick

A Garda and a civilian were both taken to hospital today following a two-vehicle collision on Sunday morning. 

The incident occurred around Newcastle West in Limerick, on the Bruff line shortly after 9am.

Three fire engines and an ambulance attended the scene after the two vehicles collided at a bend in the road. 

According to Gardaí, a female garda and a female from the other vehicle both sustained minor injuries. 

A garda spokesman said: “It happened around 9am between Newcastle West and Bruff. Two females, one from each car, were brought to hospital.” 

No serious injuries were reported, although the damage to both cars has been described as “serious”.
