The Heatwave MIGHT Break 30 Degrees Next Week — Potentially Making This Ireland’s Hottest Summer In 42 Years

Irish people feckin’ love hot weather, because we get it so rarely. But because we get it so rarely, we’re not able to handle real extremes… which is why the prospect of temperatures breaking 30 degrees next week might make some folks a bit nervous.

Met Éireann had already informed the public that this heatwave was to reach the high 20s, but when forecaster Liz Walsh appeared on Radio One she stated that in the mid-west “max temperatures will be in the higher twenties and potentially higher than that locally”.

Walsh said the highest temperatures will be found inland, mostly ranging from 20° to 27°, but the coast will be slightly cooler, so you know where to go if the heat gets a bit too much for you.

According to Independent.ie, this heatwave looks like it might end up being the hottest summer we’ve seen in this country since 1976.

Make the most of the heatwave, with its expected peak to take place on Thursday and Friday, before it’s set to let up next Saturday.
