Hugely Popular IKEA Rival Announces Plans To Open 15 Irish Stores

The massive Danish home retail brand JYSK has just revealed their plans to open 15 Irish stores around the country over the next two years.

JYSK (pronounced “yusk”) was founded back in 1979 and now has more than 2,700 stores in 51 countries around the world.

You won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on some of their Scandi homeware products either because they’ll be available to buy online with home delivery in Ireland from April 15.

The affordable Danish brand is expected to be big competition for the likes of IKEA and Søstrene Grene when it opens.

The first store will open in Naas in April, followed by locations in Drogheda and Navan in May and another in Portlaoise over the summer.

They’re also planning to open up a head office in Dublin ahead of the openings around Ireland, though they haven’t revealed any other dates or locations just yet.

Ireland country manager Roni Tuominen told Fora, “We are looking for opportunities. We have more than 20 locations that we have been visiting.

“We are aiming to be close to the customer. Our target is to be where the customers are.”
