Late Late Show

The line-up for the first Late Late Show of 2020 has been revealed.

2019 was a memorable one for the Late Late, with a particularly poignant Toy Show featuring several emotional moments and special episodes dedicated to tributes to the likes of Shane MacGowan and the late Brendan Grace.

The Late Late Show’s first episode of the new year airs on Friday night and RTE have announced who will be joining Ryan Tubridy for a chat this weekend.

Former President, Mary McAleese, will be welcomed to the studio to discuss post-presidency life as well as her stances on the Catholic Church and Brexit.

Dermot Bannon will open up on his experience of renovating his own home while musical entertainment will come from Nathan Carter, who will perform live alongside The High Kings.

BAFTA-winning actress Miriam Margoyles, who is never short of an anecdote, is also scheduled to appear on the programme.

In what is sure to be a heart-wrenching segment, Kathleen Keyes from Bray, Co Wicklow will discuss the loss of her three children after her emotional letter to The Irish Times last month resulted in an outpouring of sympathy nationwide.

The Late Late Show airs on RTE One at 9.35pm on Friday, January 3.
