Your Long Term Health Could Be Decided By What Month You Were Born In

Leo’s are fiery, Gemini’s are witty, and Virgo’s have asthma?

Astrology might not be total nonsense after all, as a new study suggests that the month of your birth can actually affect your long term health.

The Times UK reports that Spanish scientists mapped birth month to 27 chronic diseases to see if it made a difference and found it has a “significant impact” for certain conditions.

Men born in September, for example, were almost three times as likely to suffer from thyroid problems, while men born in August had double the risk of asthma compared to those born at the start of the year.

The study was carried out by the University of Alicante and involved 30,000 patients, with other findings including reports that women born in July were 27% more likely to be diagnosed with high blood pressure, and had a 47% increased risk of incontinence.

Scientists said that:  “The month of birth may behave as an indicator of periods of early exposure to various factors, such as exposure to ultraviolet rays, vitamin D, temperature, seasonal exposure to viruses and allergies, etc, which may affect the development of the uterus and neonate in their first months of life.”
