You Could Be Banned From Sharing Your Favourite Memes If New EU Law Passes

Well, this is devastating.

Our love affair with memes could be coming to an end later this month as the EU gets ready to vote on the EU Copyright Directive next week.

According to Newstalk, it aims to protect the intellectual property right of people who upload material to the internet, but it could mean a complete ban on memes.

For those not in the know, memes are little slices of cultural heaven where a picture, video or phrase is modified and shared throughout the internet.

And we’re a little bit obsessed with them.
