There’s Controversial News For Perpignan’s Match With Connacht This Week Involving Paddy Jackson

Former Ulster and Ireland fly-half Paddy Jackson’s new team travel to Galway this weekend.

The Challenge Cup Match between Perpignan and Connacht at The Sportsground in Galway will not feature Jackson, however.

Jackson will not start for his team and won’t even feature in the squad as he has been left out of the team for this particular clash.

He was looking forward to playing on Irish soil again, he said earlier this week but Perpignan are bringing two other fly-halves on the trip.

Jackson subsequently signed for the French side after Ulster and the IRFU terminated his contract after he was acquitted of all charges at a rape trial in Belfast.

Jackson said that he really enjoys playing rugby in France but his side are currently on a 11-run losing streak.

“I’m really enjoying it and delighted to be back playing. It’s just the noise builds up a bit more when you are not winning and everyone is just anxious to get that win.

“I’ve never had a [losing] run like that, not that I can remember, but these are life experiences and I believe in this team.

“I think it’s a brilliant group but it just hasn’t clicked for us yet. Every game we have played we have shown glimpses of what we can do, it’s just bringing it all together is what we need to do,” he said.
