Recipe box company HelloFresh to launch in Ireland

If you’ve always watched with envy as your emigrated pals shared the easy prep of their pre-portioned dinners on Insta, I come bearing good news.

I think it’s safe to assume that for most adults (with the exception miss Molly Mae Hague, of course), there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. After finishing a long day at work, facing your bleak rush-hour commute and laying down your burdens, the last thing you want to do is start chopping and sautéing up a feast for yourself.

I’ve always watched longingly as pals, podcasters and peers living outside of Ireland shared vids of themselves putting together a HelloFresh dinner on a weeknight after work, wishing there was a similar service here so that I wouldn’t be tempted by the lure and convenience of those microwave burgers we were all enamoured by in the early noughties.

Well, my luck and yours has finally changed. HelloFresh are officially launching in Ireland, allowing customers to select a diverse array of recipes each week and skip the supermarket queues by having pre-portioned, locally sourced ingredients delivered straight to their doors.

Meal options include Mexican-inspired Beef Rigatoni, Spicy Prawn Red Thai Curry and Homemade Falafel Pitas – all of which feature local Irish produce. Customers can also choose from 5 preferences (Calorie Smart, Quick Cook, Veggie, Classic and Family) for 2 or 4 people.

Customers are said to waste 21% less food by using HelloFresh rather than shopping at the supermarket. Each recipe box contains ingredients pre-measured to eliminate waste and all packaging is either recyclable or made with recycled material.
