Ryanair Announce Upcoming Cancellations Of More Irish Flights As Another Strike Looms

Darragh Berry

Ryanair is to announce the cancellation of more flights which will affect thousands of passengers according to The Irish Independent.

The pilot union has refused to postpone its planned strike action for Friday and the fact that an agreement couldn’t be reached means that the airline will have to cancel 24 flights mainly between Ireland and the UK for Friday.

As well as this, another planned strike is set to take place on Tuesday, 24 July unless they can reach an agreement before then.

This could see lots more flights cancelled for the airline.

“Irish families who have saved all year will have little sympathy for these unnecessary cancellations imposed upon them by a tiny group of workers who earn between €150,000 to €200,000 per annum and who enjoy better conditions than almost any other group of workers in Ireland,” Eddie Wilson, chief people officer at Ryanair said to the unions.

Ryanair also announced on Tuesday morning that German, French and Spanish Air traffic control staff have caused delays to 45 of over 400 flights first wave departures.

Customers impacted by the flights have been notified by text or email.
