PICS: ‘Storm Chris’ Could Bring An End To Ireland’s Mini Heatwave

We could be waving bye-bye to Ireland’s mini-heatwave if Storm Chris has its way.

The Tropical Storm is currently off the east coast of America and although it has been quiet for the past 24 hours, it is expected to become a hurricane on Monday evening.

And if we get the tail end of it, it could spell trouble for our weather and send us back to pre-costa del Ireland days.

Facebook page Carlow Weather said that: “Tropical Storm Chris is causing some of the uncertainty in weather models for next weekend and beyond… The track of Chris could have a big influence on whether we hold our settled warm weather or see a breakdown with some rain beyond next weekend.

“The weekend is looking mainly warm and settled again but until Tropical Storm or possibly Hurricane Chris decides what path he will take, the weather models don’t know how to forecast beyond next week.”

Then a statement after that said that Storm Chris is almost certain to bring bad weather to Ireland:

“Tropical storm #Chris which has been almost stationary in last 24 hours is expected to strengthen to a Hurricane today and latest overnight charts show a breakdown to rain next weekend as a result of Chris but far from certain yet.”

We know we’ve been complaining about the heat lately but please don’t give us the polar opposite of a storm. Please?

We’re getting a storm in July aren’t we? FFS.
