It’s believed that Strictly Come Dancing will welcome its first same-sex male couple next season, pairing Irish singer and Westlife star Mark Feehily up with dancing pro Johannes Radebe.

Westlife singer Mark Feehily has been tipped to star on the next season of Strictly Come Dancing, with the word on the street suggesting that he’ll form part of the show’s first-ever same-sex male couple. Originally approached to compete on the show last year, Feehily turned it down due to scheduling conflict with an upcoming Westlife tour, however, his availability has since freed up as those plans have now been put on hold for the foreseeable future.

It’s believed that Strictly show bosses are currently in talks with the singer, working to secure a contract that would see him team up with dancing pro Johannes Radebe. While the show has yet to feature a same-sex competing pair, Radebe danced with fellow professional Graziano di Prima last year on the Strictly Come Dancing results show – moving many viewers to tears with the performance.

A massive fan of the show, The Mirror reports that Feehily has previously admitted that he’d love to be part of the first same-sex coupling on the programme.

“It would have to be with a guy as it would feel strange for me to go with a girl. Well, it wouldn’t feel strange but why wouldn’t I do it with a guy?”

A member of one of the biggest Irish boybands of all time, he’s sure to have picked up at least a few basic dance moves over the years, so this should be a piece of cake to him.
