Vogue Magazine Has Picked This Irish County As Its Holiday Destination Of Choice

Legendary fashion mag Vogue recently featured the favourite holiday destinations across the world where their editors are most looking forward to visiting this summer, and wudja believe it – Sligo is one.

 British Vogue Daily Editor Scarlett Conlon chose the green county, calling it a “favourite with poets and artists for centuries thanks to its sweeping vistas and rich history of literature, Sligo is an Irish county not heard of as often as its Dublin and Galway counterparts, but with the same to offer in the form of unforgettable experiences”

Not only does she say it’s wonderful for families, Sligo is “just as ideal for a romantic weekend away any time of year.”

Scarletts recommends that people visit the fishing-village town of Easkey, have a seaweed bath at Voya in Strandhill and take “a long, rambling walk around Hazelwood Forest.”

For quenching that Irish thirst, her pub of choice is Hargadon Bros on O’Connell Street.

Her top tip for a hollier here? “A car is advised.” Road trip to Sligo for us so.
